Lady Eaglets Step Up To The Plate At Softball Camp

The Lady Eaglets stepped up to the plate at a three-day softball camp from July 8-10 at Sullivan High School.

The 1st-5th graders started camp in the annex gym due to rain pouring outside. They then practiced on the field under the sunshine on the third and final day.

Many current high school softball athletes and former alums helped show the kids what it takes to be a Lady Eagle.

Hanna Johanning led a session for students about the importance of a positive team culture. The Sullivan alumna, who played at Florida International University, showed the future players TikTok  dance moves and how they could bond over social media.

Addison Purvis also returned from Kansas University, and Kayla Ulrich from Missouri State to support the camp. They both trained the students on hitting mechanics in the batting cage.

The girls also learned the fundamentals of pitching, throwing, and sliding while catching a ball on mats. After all the fun they experienced, they realized that a positive team environment is the most crucial pathway towards winning.
