Marilynn, the daughter of Oral and Zelda (Merritt) Griggs, grew up within a lively household as one of ten siblings. Her early education unfolded in the classrooms of Fenton and Eureka, where she established the foundations of a life characterized by dedication and hard work. As she blossomed into a vibrant young woman, she joined the workforce into several St. Louis area factories, beginning a career path that would witness her indomitable will and tenacity.

Life brought Marilynn the joys of motherhood, as she embraced the role while married to Don White. After their parting, Marilynn single-handedly continued to nurture and guide her two daughters, instilling values of strength and independence. Their love carried them to Otto, MO, where Marilynn contributed her skills to the Site Oil Company. In 2013, their deep sense of family commitment shone brightly as they became guardians to Marilynn’s two nephews, welcoming them wholeheartedly into their home.

A woman of many interests, Marilynn relished the beauty of nature, often found camping, fishing, and exploring trails on a four-wheeler. Her creative spirit flourished through her hobbies of crafting exquisite cards and jewelry. Yet, above all, it was her family that brought the greatest delight to her heart.

Those who knew Marilynn were touched by her pure generosity, her readiness to offer help, and the special role she played as the caregiver of the family.
