Mary L. Price

Mary L. Price, 88, of Gerald, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Mary Lorraine Price was born July 5, 1935, to Walter and Virgia (Anderson) McElfresh in Cisco, Arkansas. Her family later moved to Licking, MO, and eventually to Cuba, MO, where she spent most of her childhood growing up.
She was later united in marriage to James B. Kaufhold on July 25, 1952, and together they were blessed with a son, Jim. Sadly, James soon after suddenly passed away.
A few years later, Mary found love again and was united in marriage to Noel A. Price on July 2, 1955. Together they were blessed with five children: Kristal, Ellen, Denelda, Robert and Terry. Mary and Noel continued raising their family in the Cuba community. During this time, Mary was also employed by Cuba Shoe before becoming a full time homemaker.
Mary loved to read western books, she enjoyed spending time gardening and growing various types of plants. She also was talented in needle work and made each grandchild their own blanket. Mary also had a sense of adventure and loved to travel to Florida, Colorado, and even to Alaska when she could. She was a lover of country classics such as Roy Orbison, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline, and Conway Twitty. Mary was humorous. She loved to laugh, she was always kind, and above all devoted. She treasured each moment spent with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by five, beloved children: James Kaufhold and wife Barbara of Cuba, Missouri, Kristal Thomann and husband Ed of Foristell, Missouri, Ellen Morrison of Willows, California, Denelda Price of Gerald, Missouri, and Robert Price of New York; 13 grandchildren; 18 great – grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Barlet and Faye Downing of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Kaufhold; her second husband, Noel Price; a daughter, Terry Sagel; a granddaughter, Melissa Thomann; a sister, Laura Oaker; and a brother, Garrison McElfresh.
Private family services will be held on May 30, 2024. Mary will be laid to rest in Schmidt Cemetery.
