David John Amheiser was born May 13, 1958, to Donald and Dorthea (Wagner) Amheiser in Farrell, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Sharon, PA, and attended school at Sharon High School.

Following his high school graduation, David ventured to Texas with a few friends to begin their lives. After just a short time there, David began a career at Delta Tire as a salesman. He would be employed here for over 30 years. It was in Texas that David would marry his soul mate, Sharon Jost, on August 6, 1994. Together they were blessed with a son, Dawson.

As a family they returned to Missouri in 2008 and David began working for R&R Donelly as a press operator, until his retirement in May of 2023.  David enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved to be outdoors, whether it was fishing, BBQing for a family gathering, walking alongside the river, or mowing his lawn with precision. He was gifted at building things and working with his hands.

Above all David was a devoted husband and father who always took the best care of his family. He was especially proud of his best bud and son, Dawson. He will be sincerely missed.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Amheiser of Leslie, Missouri; a son, Dawson Amheiser of Sullivan, Missouri; three sisters: Donna Hansbrough and husband Jay of Savannah, GA, Doris Reid and husband Francois of Martinez, CA and Dawn Toto and husband Leonard of Wilmington, PA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Roberts and husband Ron of Virginia Beach and Debrah Conaway of Sullivan, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Dorthia Amheiser; parents-in-law, Erma and John (Tommy) Jost; a nephew, Jesse Cash; and a niece, Sarah Organ.

A Memorial Graveside will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Boone Creek Cemetery in Bourbon, MO with Pastor Mike King officiating.
