Sullivan Names New Head Boys Basketball Coach

Sullivan High School is pleased to announce that Kobe Wands has been selected to be the next head boys basketball coach. Wands will be a physical education teacher at Sullivan High School and was most recently the Head Boys Basketball coach at Newburg High School.
A graduate of Rolla, MO, Wands attended University of Missouri-St. Louis where he participated in basketball. After his freshman year, he transferred to Westminster College where he finished his playing career. Wands brings in 4 years of basketball coaching experience. All years were spent at Newburg with three as the head coach. Sullivan High School Activities Director Cody Davis said, “Coach Wands will be a great addition to our school and community. He is driven and dedicated to high expectations and the process of building our boys basketball program.” When asked what he is looking forward to, Coach Wands said, “I look forward to creating a culture of teamwork, discipline, and excellence, helping each player reach their full potential both on and off the court. Together, we’ll work hard, create habits that lead to success, and enjoy the journey as a team.” In addition, he stated, “My family and I are thrilled to become part of the community and are committed to make a meaningful impact within the program at Sullivan High School.”
The Eagles will look to build on the youth of their team from this past season. They will start the 2024 season in the 11th annual FCNB Bank-It Championship hosted by Sullivan High School.
