Girls Wrestling Secures First-Ever Championship At Fox

Sullivan capped off their regular season with their first-ever team championship in program history at the Fox Lady Warriors Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 3. They had eight medalists and six individual champions.

Mariah Denney (25-4) landed first in the 120 class and scored 25 team points. 

Jade Studdard (27-2) finished first in the 135 class with 26 points. 

Dorie Richardson (27-2), weighing in at 140, clinched first and scored 21.5 team points. 

Ruby Daily (17-8) made 1st in the 170 class with 20 points. She seized a win by forfeit over LeSarah Washington (McCluer) and a 1:50 fall over Angelia Baer (Fox).

Abigail Erfurth (16-3), weighing in at 235, finished first and tallied 20 team points. She swiftly pinned Abbi Ford (Fox) in 2:32 and Amelia Wilson (Kirkwood) in 2:57.

Karen Dietzler (12–10) and Alyssa Beers (14–9) placed 2nd in their classes; both earned 14 points for their team.

Chloe Carson (13-8) ranked 3rd in the 190 class with 11 points.

Peyton Evans (1-13) landed 8th and scored a point.

Sullivan clinched first out of nine teams with 176.5 points. Fox clinched 2nd (131), Webster Groves (88) ranked 3rd, Kirkwood and McCluer (65) tied at 4th, Mehlville (56) made 6th, Ladue Horton Watkins (42) landed 7th, Jennings (27) got 8th, and Cardinal Ritter (11) rounded out the top 9.
