JV Eagles Edged Out By DeSoto In 33-30 Nail-Biter
The JV boys’ basketball team came up short in a 33-30 loss to DeSoto, nearly emerging victorious in a second-half comeback.
Stats were unavailable at press time.
To kick off the thriller, freshman guard Landen Doza drove through the paint to hit a jumper, tying it 2-2 for the Eagles. Sophomore forward Chase Blue got fouled as he tried to shoot, then capitalized on it to seize a free throw and take a one-point lead. Doza again laid it into the basket, and freshman guard Braxton Breen netted a 3. The Eagles were ahead of the Dragons by 4 points at the end of the first quarter.
But DeSoto was able to take back control of the scoreboard with a 12-11 lead at halftime. Junior guard Mikeldon Taylor-Gray swooshed in a 3-pointer for Sullivan’s only score in the second period.
