Stanley Thomas Capps passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, in Bourbon, Missouri, at the age of 83. Born on March 29, 1940, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Stanley was a man whose life was characterized by dedication, service, and a profound love for his family.

Growing up in Jennings, Missouri, Stanley attended Fairview High School, where he laid the foundations of a life marked by hard work and perseverance. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, he completed electrician trade school, which would later inform his professional career. After four years of active duty, Stanley continued to serve in the reserves for an additional 20 years, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his nation.

On January 6, 1962, Stanley married the love of his life, Geraldine "Jerrie" Kircher. Their union was blessed with three children: Thomas, Christopher, and Diana. Together, they continued raising their family in Florissant, Missouri. Stanley looked forward to taking his family to the Lake of the Ozarks and Montauk State Park to camp and trout fish. He also enjoyed spending time with his brother-in-law, Bob, working on cars.

Following his discharge from the Navy, Stanley worked for various companies before embarking on a successful career with Boeing, formerly known as McDonnell Douglas. His colleagues at Boeing fondly nicknamed him "Motor Man" for his exceptional skill and knowledge. Stanley retired on April 1, 2005, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and camaraderie.

In 1988, Stanley and Jerrie purchased a farm in Bourbon, where they began to create their dream home. Embracing the serene and quiet life of the country, Stanley found joy in the simple pleasures of rural living. Stanley raised and showcased alpacas, a hobby that brought him much joy and satisfaction.

A devoted husband, Stanley always responded to Jerrie with a loving "yes dear," a phrase that became synonymous with his unwavering support and affection for her. Together, they cherished their grandbabies, creating a warm and loving environment for their family to thrive.

He and Jerrie shared many moments cheering on their favorite team, The Saint Louis Cardinals, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Jerrie of Bourbon, Missouri; a daughter, Diana Capps-Jones of Bourbon, Missouri; six grandchildren: Crystal Adler, Brandon Davidson, Tyler Jones, Elizabeth Capps, Christina Mehler, and Johnathan Mehler; 15 great-grandchildren: Gracie, Faith, Emma, Taylor, Brandon, Cheyanne, Jasmine, Christopher, Hayley, Lily, Freya, Zoe, Zhanara, Miah, Leah, Aiden, Elle and Ryan; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Christopher Capps; a grandson, Tommy Capps; his parents, Paul and Margaret; and a brother, Harold Capps.

A Memorial Service will be held, 3 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home with Father Noah Waldman presiding.

Visitation will be 1 – 3 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
