Leo Baumgartner

Leo Baumgartner passed away peacefully at age 81 at his home on December 30, 2023.

Leo was united in marriage to Susan (Giemza) Baumgartner for 37 loving years.

Leo is survived by three children, Daniel Baumgartner, Sandra (Michael) Buchka and Karen (Lance) Rochestar; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Jacqueline) Baumgartner, Katherine Whipple, Tiffany (Logan) Fleming, Teela Thompson, Jonathan Peterson, Jasmine Baumgartner and Michael Chuchka; great-grandchildren, Zehn Porter, Dylan Baumgartner, Jacob Searles, Melody Fleming and Sophia Chuchka; his brother, John B. Baumgartner and sister, Bernice (William) Tate.

He is preceded in death by his parents Damian and Katherine (Scherr) Baumgartner; four brothers, Joseph, Lawrence, Anthony and Felix; three sisters, Diana Baumgartner, Angeline (Louis) Ternes, Helen (Leo) Fischer and one grandson, Dylan Baack.

Leo left a legacy of laughter and love for his children and grandchildren. It is hard to say goodbye to someone who had a big impact on all of our lives. He loved football, horses, hunting, belt buckles and spoiling his grandchildren. There is nothing but good memories and love in our minds.

There will be no services, but if someone would like to do something, please donate to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
