Boys Wrestling Takes The Crown At Brentwood Invitational
The boys wrestling team was crowned the champion of the Brentwood Invitational with 271.5 points on Saturday, Dec. 16. The tournament had 19 teams.
Dominic Ransom (144) clinched first place and went undefeated. He first received a bye and then swiftly pinned Preston Proskocil (Hallsville) in 0:37, Parker Lemmons (Notre Dame) in 2:18 and Kelvin Saffo (Normandy) in 1:06.
Adam Peregoy (150) stood atop the podium with an undefeated performance as well. He pinned Gavyn Joggerst (Valle Catholic) at 2:27 and Daniel Stolarski (Affton) at 4:41. He also won a 6-3 decision over Jacob Plummer (Hallsville) and 4-1 over Gavyn Colbert (Central).
Colton Brendel (165) finished 1st and was riding high after achieving his 100th win just 2 days before. He pinned Bryson Aaron (Lexington) in 1:38, Dmarion Williams (Normandy) in 0:16, Chrisod Sims (Normandy) in 1:00 and capped off his day with a 10-0 decision victory over Tre`Vyon Chatman (STEAM).
Dayton Skaggs (190) ranked 1st, taking down Henry Bryan (STEAM) in 0:14, Cole Williams (Notre Dame) in a 4-2 decision, Yehoshua Magwood (Ritenour) in 5:13 and Leo Barber (Maplewood-Richmond Hts.) in 0:58.
Nolan Center (285) landed in 1st place, shutting down Reggie Thomas (STEAM) in 5:22, Hunter Smith (Borgia) in a sudden victory, William Holloway (STEAM) in 1:13 and Espn Reed (Valle Catholic) in 1:49.
