Gary E. Nash

Gary E. Nash, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born on March 28, 1948, in St. Louis, MO, Gary lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to his family.

Gary was united in marriage to Virginia Ziegler on July 26, 1995, in St. Louis. They made their home in the city until 2013 when they retired to Florida. In 2020, they decided to move back to Missouri, specifically Sullivan, to be near their grandson, Barry. Gary was a hard-working man, having been employed in the maintenance department at Tower Grove for twenty years and later at Lutheran Senior Services for another twenty years. He retired in 2012.

Gary was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was also a dog lover, particularly fond of his beloved dog, Jed, who will miss him greatly. Gary was known for his handy skills, always ready to lend a hand whenever needed.

He is survived by his four children, Kelley Nash of Frederickton, MO, Teresa Franks of Fenton, MO, Lauren Doll of Jefferson County, MO, Laurence Kreps II and wife Caroline of Eureka, MO; special grandson, Barry Hooper and wife Ariel of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren, Quintin and Hanna Doll, Taylor Hooper, Spencer and Lucas Hanning, Ziegler and Laurence Kreps; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Hosick of Herculaneum, MO; his beloved dog, "Jed"; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ora (Parton) Nash; his wife, Virginia Nash; his son, David Nash; and one sister, Sharon Jones. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

It was Gary’s wish to be cremated. There will be no services at this time.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
