Volleyball Falls To Pacific In Three Sets
Pacific defeated Sullivan in three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-23. The Lady Eagles held a 5-11 record after their final matchup of the week.
The girls came close to winning, but fell short in the final moments. Head coach Sarah Rochleau explained that, “These close sets are when our inexperience really shows up. We have yet to figure out who is going to step up in tight matches and make the big play.”
Ava Blankenship and Stevi Saling topped the team with 23 attacks.
Blankenship had a team-high of 8 kills. Delaney George had the highest points at 5.
Ava Todd had a team-high of 9 assists.
Raegan Johnson, Saling and Blankenship each had a block.
Allie Brune, Emily Clonts, George and Shelby Giebler each delivered an ace.
The Lady Eagles will be heading to the Rolla Invitational on Saturday, Sep. 30. Rochleau is hoping that with every matchup, her team will become more comfortable on the court in order to take in close wins.
“We’re excited to compete in the Rolla Tournament this weekend, which is loaded with great teams as usual. Every match we have played this year is helping to get us ready for districts, and we hope that after this tournament we will be one step closer to being ready,” she stated.
