Softball Crushed Owensville With An 11-4 Victory
Lady Eagles softball delivered their best performance of the week against Owensville with a 11-4 victory. The highlight of the match came when Carli McCreary smashed a home run in the second inning.
Freshman Mia Pridemore played a pivotal role as the winning pitcher for Sullivan, allowing only 5 hits and 2 runs.
Up-and-coming sophomore Evelynn Harris led the Lady Eagles with 3 runs. Hayli Venable and Dorie Richardson had two, while Ava Declue, Rae Corwin, Morgan Braun and McCreary each added one to the scoreboard.
McCreary had a team-high of 3 hits. Declue, Venable, Corwin and Braun each had 2 hits. Richardson and Pridemore both picked up one hit.
Sullivan started strong, with quick runs scored by Blankenship, Harris and Venable. McCreary then launched the ball over the fences for a home run and Braun scored, boosting Sullivan’s lead to 5-0.
At the top of the third, Harris would get her second run of the day and Venable executed a clutch steal of home plate. Then Corwin hustled around the bases and eventually scored on an error to extend Sullivan’s lead to 8-0.
In their next turn, Declue made it home and Richardson scored on a wild pitch. Harris would tally her and Sullivan’s final run of the match in the top of the seventh inning off Braun’s grounder.
