Carl L. Bizzle Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Sullivan, MO on July 11, 2023. Born on March 25, 1955, also in Sullivan, Carl’s life was characterized by hard work, dedication, and a love for the outdoors.

Carl attended Spring Bluff grade school and later from Sullivan High School. After high school, he began his working life at Belmont Furniture as a delivery driver. Carl's work ethic and commitment to providing for his family led him to various jobs in heavy equipment operation. Following this, he became self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver and later a dump truck driver. He eventually found his calling at Chuck's Towing, where he worked as a wrecker until his retirement in 2013. Carl was known for his handy nature, often putting his skills to use in his personal life, such as restoring a '65 Ford for his son CJ.

On January 26, 1998, Carl married the love of his life, Susan Mozingo. Throughout Carl’s life he blessed with six children: Brad, Shannon, Angie, Kayla, Brittany, and CJ. Carl was a devoted father and husband who took great joy in raising his family in Sullivan. He was a loving, friendly man who cherished the time he spent with his family. Some of his favorite pastimes included camping, fishing, hunting, and hosting BBQs.

Carl had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed assembling car models and had a knack for sharpening knives. He also had an impressive knife collection. Carl was a gifted mechanic, a skill he learned from his father and his brother Marley. Above all, Carl was a doting grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

In 2022, Carl accepted Jesus as his savior and followed in believer's baptism, a testament to his faith and resilience.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his children, CJ, Angie, Kayla, and Brittany; his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with one on the way; his sisters, Leona and Darlene; his brother-in-law, Harold and his wife Betty; his sisters-in-law, Sherry and Tina; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Brad and Shannon; his parents, Wid and Bessie; and seven siblings: Hershel, Clifton, Roy, Marley, Nell, Josephine, and Delores.

Carl L. Bizzle Sr. will be remembered as a loving family man, a dedicated worker, and a kind friend. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10 AM, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cave Spring Cemetery in Sullivan.
