Track Season Finishes At State
By Wyatt Hardy
Abigail Peterson, Wyatt Kraus, and Robert York qualified for the Class 4 Track & Field Championship. The team has been on a roll this year, fighting with all their might and placing high in the rankings.
On Tuesday, they recieved a huge send-off at Sullivan High School before they left for Jefferson City. Lined up side-by-side, their peers cheered them as they walked through the hallways. Cheers, screams, and the chanting of their names echoed off the metal lockers. The track athletes were very excited for what was about to come.
They all performed very strongly on Friday and Saturday.
Abigail Peterson is state champion in Girls’ High Jump at 1.64 cm with 10 points.
Wyatt Kraus finished 6th place in Boys’ 110m Hurdles with 15.34 seconds.
Robert York placed in 9th in the Boys’ Javelin with a throw of 49.28 meters.
The team has had a great season and will bring more champions in the coming years.
