Lovetta J. Midyett

Lovetta J. Midyett, 88, of Bourbon, MO passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at her home in Bourbon.
Lovetta was born June 9, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa to Donald and Hannah Lauretta (Onstot) McKee. In her early years she was raised by her grandparents, Ben and Hannah Zenobia (Ostlund) Onstot. When she was 12 years old her mother married "Bob" Everett and Lovetta now had a new home and new father. She grew up in Iowa and graduated in 1952. Later in 1952 she met the love of her life, Johnny Midyett, at a USO dance in Sioux City. They were married on October 3, 1953.
In 1956, after the completion of Johnny's service in the US Air Force, the couple moved to St. Louis where Lovetta eventually started working on the clerical staff of the City of St. Louis Refuse Division in 1972. She retired in 1996 and they moved to the property they bought five years earlier in Bourbon, MO, and put a house on it. A few years after the passing of her husband, Lovetta began working as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Sullivan, MO. Her kindness and friendly smile was seen by every person she greeted in the over 15 years she was with Walmart. Peoples Bank also hired her to concurrently be a greeter for them.
By far the most important priorities of Lovetta's life were her faith in Christ and love for her family. While in St. Louis she worshipped and served in Curby Church. When the family moved to Bourbon she attended several area churches until she recently found her new church home and family at The Rock Church in Sullivan.
Lovetta is survived by her children: Pamela Stenger and husband Lester of St. Clair, MO, Brenda Adams and husband Michael of Bourbon, MO, Cheryl Radosh and husband Bradley of Festus, MO, William Midyett and wife Denise of Arnold, MO, Linda Midyett of Bourbon, MO, and Bob Midyett of Bourbon, MO; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol McCulloch of Vancouver, WA and Mary Walkup and husband James of Hayward, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
