Kathleen R. Alexander

Kathy R. Webb - Alexander, 61, of Bourbon, Missouri passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Mercy Hospital – Saint Louis.
Kathleen Renee Alexander was born September 19, 1961 to James “ Leo” and Wilma (Paul) Webb in Saint Louis. She grew up and attended school in Bourbon, graduating from Bourbon High School in 1979. After high school, Kathy transferred to Hickey College to further her education. She then went to work for Paramount Cap Factory for a short time before becoming employed with Wallis Companies. Kathy would eventually retire from Wallis with over 30 + years of service.
Kathy met and married Wesley Alexander on May 25, 1985 and together were blessed with a daughter, Brittany. They continued to raise their family in Bourbon. Kathy and Wesley were later divorced.
Kathy suffered a severe automobile accident in November of 1990 that left her paralyzed from the neck down. Overnight, everyday tasks became a big obstacle for Kathy. But she persevered and worked to gain her independence back. She never let her disability define her. Kathy remained working full time for Wallis, but also found a new passion in life for spreading awareness and advocating for others while serving as the President for the DCAI (Disabled Citizens Alliance of Independence). While serving in DCAI, Kathy travelled all across the nation informing people and encouraging others to conquer their disabilities just as she had.
In her more private life, Kathy never missed a sports game or practice of Brittany’s and made sure to vacation to Gulf Shores every year. She loved the beach and pure sunshine. Kathy was a huge Cardinal’s Baseball fan and especially enjoyed time with her grandbabies, Blayke and Briella. She will be so dearly missed and very lovingly remembered by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Kathy is survived by her loving daughter, Brittany Heuser and husband Zhack of Bourbon, MO; two grandchildren: Blayke Alexander and Briella Thurmond; life companion, Wesley Alexander; two brothers, Marvin Webb and wife Oleta, and Wayne Webb and wife Cheryl all of Bourbon, MO; numerous special nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Leo” and Wilma and a brother, Bobby Webb.
