Wilhelmine M. Halmick
Willie M. Halmick, 101, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at LifeCare Center in Sullivan.
Wilhelmine Marie Halmick was born May 15, 1921 to Louis and Elise (Riske) Schebaum in Leslie, Missouri. She grew up and attended grade school in Champion City, before moving to Saint Louis to become a nanny for a short time. She then later returned to Sullivan and went to work for Paramount Cap Factory where she worked as a seamstress sewing the bills onto caps. Willie was united in marriage to Vernon Halmick on November 12, 1945 in Sullivan, Missouri. Sadly, Vernon later passed away.
Alongside being employed by Paramount she also worked as a custodial engineer for the Bank of Sullivan. Willie gave back to the Sullivan community for over 40 + years as a “Pink Lady” with the Hospital Auxiliary.
Willie’s faith was very dear to her. She attended services at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church as well as New Testament Baptist Church. She will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Willie is survived by three nieces: Ina Bates and husband Charles, of Sullivan, MO, Dorothy Voss of Sullivan, MO and Maxine Voss and husband Norman of Sullivan, MO; a nephew, Ervin Dierking of Sullivan, MO; many other generations of nieces and nephews; a sister in law, Rovina Schebaum of Sullivan, MO; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents, Louise and Elise; three brothers: Bill, Otto and Louise Schebaum; four sisters: Mable Taylor, Irene Wingerton, Elise Dierking and Ida Schebaum; and two nephews, Eldo Dierking and Robert “Bob” Dierking.
Funeral Service will be 12 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Hollenbeck officiating.
Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home.
