Barbara Jean Owens

Barbara Jean Owens, 91, formerly of Dallas, TX, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at her home in San Antonio, TX.

Barbara Jean Meadows was born on August 27, 1931, in Columbia, Missouri, to Howard and Evelyn (Vie) Meadows.  She was married to Leonard H. Owens of Sullivan, Missouri and together they had 2 daughters, Lynda Kathryn and Kitty Lee.  In the early 60’s they moved to Dallas, Texas, and she lived there for 50 years.

Barbara worked in marketing research for over 20 years.  She and her husband, Lynn, greatly enjoyed traveling, visiting family, having card parties with their friends and spending time with her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Rose Meadows, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kitty Lee (Owens) and Edward Myers, as well as her much-beloved granddaughter, Melyssa Kristine (Myers) and grandson-in-law, Aaron Cormier.  And she was blessed in the last few months to have a chance to get to know her new great-grandson, Aiden Joseph Cormier.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Owens; her eldest daughter, Lynda Kathryn (Owens) Linebarger; and her grandchildren, Diana Michelle and David Lyndon Myers.

Services will be 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan, MO with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.  Burial will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Sullivan.

Visitation will be 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
