Doris M. Wulfert

Doris M. Wulfert, 86, of Sullivan, MO passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Meramec Nursing Center.
Doris Mae Chapman was born on June 15, 1936 in Farmington, MO to John Chapman and Treveal (Owens) Chapman. She grew up in St. Louis County and attended school in Riverview Gardens. Doris was united in marriage to Thomas Culp on December 25, 1952 and to this union three sons were born: Keith, Brian, and Barry. The couple divorced in 1988.
Doris was employed at the National Archive for most of her working years, retiring after 33 years of service. On June 13, 1990, Doris married Robert Wulfert in Clayton, MO. They enjoyed nearly thirty-three years together. In her younger days, Doris enjoyed bowling, working in her flower garden, and she loved all animals, especially her dogs. Bob was a truck driver, and when Doris was on furlough, she would accompany him on hauling trips. Doris possessed a generous, delightful personality and always “told it like it was”.
Doris is survived by her husband, Bob Wulfert of Sullivan, MO; two sons, Brian Culp and wife Brenda of Villa Ridge, MO and Barry Culp and wife Beth of Cuba, MO; adopted son, Rodney Fleiger of Hawk Point, MO; five grandchildren: Jason Cain and wife Hannah of Villa Ridge, MO, Kerry Cain of Villa Ridge, MO, Stephanie Arbogast and husband Jerid of Smyrna, TN, Jeremy Mathes of Gray Summit, MO, and C.J. Jones of Cuba, MO; five great-grandchildren: Abigail, Logan, Dean, Declan and Emmett; special niece, Carol Crawford and husband Don of Ferguson, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Culp; her parents, John and Treveal Chapman; and several siblings: Lola, Mary, James, Walter, Edna, John, and Beverly.
Arrangements for cremation have taken place. A remembrance memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Don Crawford officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Doris’s memory may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America or the Humane Society of St. Louis.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
