Joyce M. Baldwin

Joyce M. Baldwin, 90, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 4, 2022 sur- rounded by her loving family.
Joyce Marie Baldwin was born September 28, 1932 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Mil- ton and Lula (Bell) Sansouci. She grew up and attended school in Saint Louis, until moving to Sullivan where she then graduated from Sullivan High School in 1950.
After high school, Joyce went to work at Clarks De- partment Store for a few years until marrying the love of her life, Roy Baldwin, on April 5, 1953. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Kay and Kim. They continued to raise their family in Sullivan while Joyce worked for a short period of time for Ramsey Corporation and Crawford Electric. Joyce then went to work for the Sullivan Hospital as a medical records secretary and remained there for over 25 years.
Joyce was active in the Sul- livan Community, serving as a “Firette” alongside other women in the community, they would collect and donate items to families in need. She also served as a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and was a longtime active member of Temple Baptist Church. At church, she sang in not only the choir, but with the “Tem- pleaires” trio, served as a Sun- day school teacher, volunteered in the nursery, and taught in the GA Program.
Joyce and Roy loved spend- ing time with their family camping at Meramec State Park and Lost Valley Camping Resort.
Joyce was a very giving, com- passionate, kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Kay McGowan and husband Darrell of Sullivan, MO and Kim Jones and hus- band Thomas of Sullivan, MO; a granddaughter, Kayla Sa- vant and husband Michael of Bourbon, MO; a great-grand- child, Theodore Savant; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her par- ents; three brothers: Gilbert Vernon Sansouci, Russell The- odore Sansouci, and Raymond Calvert Sansouci; and a sister, Levada Jeanne Treadway.
Funeral Services were 12 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pas- tor Scott Perry officiating. Interment followed at Crow Cemetery in Sullivan.
Visitation was 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Thursday, prior to the ser- vice at Temple Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, dona- tions may be made to Temple Baptist’s IXL Program or Missions.
