Brenda K. Hediger

Brenda K. Hediger, 62, of St. Clair, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Mercy Hospital – Washington.
Brenda Kay Land was born in Leasburg, MO on January 28, 1960 to James and Gladine (Eoff) Land. She grew up and attended grade school in Leasburg, and graduated from Bourbon High School, class of 1979. Brenda was united in marriage to Don Parker in 1979 and they were blessed with two children, Melissa and Jeremy. Don and Brenda later divorced.
Brenda married Fred Ronald Hediger on January 21, 1988. They moved to Cape Girardeau for two years, and they were blessed with one son, Freddie. They made their way back to St. Clair to make their final home. Brenda worked as a waitress at the White Rose in Union, and Jim’s Diner in St. Clair. For a few years, she also owned and operated her own resale shop, “Hedigers This, That & More”. Brenda retired in 2010.
Brenda loved zebras, yard sales, and flea markets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a great cook and baker. Brenda always had a smile on her face. She was a fighter, very stubborn and strong willed, caring, and kind. Brenda was a devoted and protective wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Fred R. Hediger of St. Clair, MO; three children: Melissa VanLeer and husband Steve of Beaufort, MO, Jeremy Parker of Bourbon, MO, and Freddie Hediger of St. Clair, MO; two grandchildren, Benjamin VanLeer and Jeremiah Parker; four brothers: Gary Land and wife Sheila of Leasburg, MO, Jerry Land of Leasburg, MO, Jim Land of Columbia, MO, and Ronnie Land and wife Linda of Leasburg, MO; three sisters: Lisa Girardier of Leasburg, MO, Teresa Swyers of Leasburg, MO, and Norma Davidson of Doniphan, MO; nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladine Land; one brother, Larry Land; and one sister, Patsy Coleman.
Arrangements for cremation have been made. No services will be held.
