Richard Hassler

Richard Wayne Hassler of Leasburg, Missouri passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 in his home at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 21 days. He was born November 23, 1950 in St. Louis to Basil Junior Hassler and Marie Catherine Lauth Hassler. On July 2, 1979 in Steelville, MO, he was united in marriage to Amy Patricia Maze and to this union two children were born.

Richard served his county honorably in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Vietnam in the motor transportation division hauling ammunition to the front lines. Richard was employed as a truck driver for many years, working at Thompson Hauling, Complete Auto and West Construction.

He was a member of the Eagles Club in Bourbon and always enjoyed playing Keno. He enjoyed fishing and in his younger days loved to go mud racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Marie Hassler.

He is survived by his wife of almost forty-three years, Amy of Leasburg, MO; one son, Wade (Kirby) Hassler of Pacific, MO; one daughter, Wendy (Nick) Brinkmann of Leasburg, MO; one brother, Larry (Trish) Hassler of Union, MO; two sisters, Tynna (Ron) Galagher and Judy (Ed) Armstrong all of Leasburg, MO; five grandchildren, Troy, Luke, Heather, Kinley and Klaire; other relatives; and friends.

A Family Memorial Inurnment will be held at a later date with Full Military Honors.

The Family chose cremation as the final disposition.

The Hassler Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
