David S. Rogers

David S. Rogers, 53, of Steelville, MO, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

David Scott Rogers was born in Tulsa, OK, on February 24, 1969, to Samuel Rogers and Donna Wofford. He grew up and attended school in Tulsa until moving to Saint Louis at age 14. As a child, David was always so happy, kind and easy going. His Papa Rogers would call him “Happy Jack”. He grew up watching and admiring Mr. Rogers and often times called himself Mr. Rogers.

As a teenager, David developed a passion for music, especially drumming. David was also skilled at booking gigs and marketing other bands, just because he was a fan himself.

Early in David’s adult life, he was blessed with two children, Josh and Emma. He also worked alongside his brother, Kevin, as a very talented landscaper.

In 2019, David met the love of his life, Alaina Perkins. After dating for two years, they were recently united in marriage on January 1, 2022. David and Alaina were inseparable. They enjoyed going for walks, staying home and watching “Friends”, spending time in prayer and reading their Bibles together, and attending church together at Kirksville Fellowship Baptist Church.

David loved unconditionally, was fast at forgiving, and had a compassionate servant’s heart. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

David is survived by his wife, Alaina Rogers, of Steelville, MO; a son, Josh Coibion of Saint Charles, MO; a daughter, Emma Rogers of Steelville, MO; his mother, Donna Crispell and husband Richard of Kirksville, MO; a brother, Kevin Duty and wife Murlene of Kirksville, MO; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place. No services are planned at this time.
