Crawford County Office Filing Open
Filing for Crawford County offices began Tuesday and runs through Tuesday, March 29.
The primary election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2.
There are eight county positions open on the ballot this year.
Each office is held by a Republican. The primary has often served as the only election, with only one Democrat running in the 2018 and 2020 elections.
The following are the positions that are up for new terms and the current office holder:
Presiding Commissioner Leo Sanders;
Associate Circuit Judge Patrick Horsefield;
County Clerk John Martin;
Circuit Court Clerk Karen Harlan;
Recorder of Deeds Kim Cook,
Treasurer Karen Sikes;
Prosecuting Attorney David Smith and,
Collector Pat Schwent.
Sanders, Harlan, Schwent and Cook are up for fourth terms.
Horsefield, Sikes and Smith can file for second terms.
Martin could seek a third term.
