Mary Ann Vogelgesang

Mary Ann Vogelgesang, 86, of Ellisville, MO, formerly of Sullivan, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Andrew’s of Francis Place in Eureka, MO.
Mary Ann was born on March 13, 1935 in Sullivan, MO to the late Fredrick “Roy” and Geneva (Mendenhall) Vogelgesang. She attended Sullivan High School and graduated in the class of 1953. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Philip Brandt on August 21, 1954 and together they had three beautiful children: Philip III, Teresa and Cheryl. Sadly, Mary Ann and Philip later divorced.
Through the years, Mary Ann was employed by Petrolane Gas Company, as a receptionist for Dr. De La Torre, and lastly, as a medical transcriptionist for Washington University.
Mary Ann was a mover. She would pack up and head to a new location on a moments notice. She also loved having her beloved family around her. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, camping, and playing cards. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was raised Catholic and was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan.
Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Thiemann and husband John of Dittmer, MO and Cheryl Sommer of Newtown, PA; four grandchildren: Chandra Nilges Fessler and husband Tim of Ellisville, MO, Christina Thiemann Martin and husband Gabe of Nixa, MO, Madeliene and Noah Sommer, both of Newtown, PA; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Fessler and Jace Martin; one brother, Fred Vogelgesang of Roswell, NM; one sister, Vicki Walker and husband John of Sullivan, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Philip John Brandt III; and her parents, Roy and Geneva.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic church, with Father Paul Telken officiating. Interment followed in St. Anthony Cemetery.
