Ray S. Goodman
Ray Goodman, 74, of Spring Bluff, MO, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021.
Ray Stanley Goodman was born on August 23, 1947 in the Boone Creek area, to the late James and Katherine (DeClue) Goodman. He attended school in St. Louis and Spring Bluff, graduating from Sullivan High School in 1967. Ray was united in marriage to Shirley Cates on March 8, 1968 and to this union there were two children, Tina and Tracy. Ray was drafted into the United States Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam for two years. Upon his return, he became employed by the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton for the next 39 ½ years, retiring in 2007.
Ray loved being outdoors, which included being on his farm and working his cattle. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His family has many fond memories camping, traveling and spending time together. Ray modeled being a loving husband, father, and grandfather throughout his lifetime. He cherished his relationship with Shirley as they were together for over 53 years. Ray will be missed by his family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley Goodman; his children, Tina Benton and her husband, Daniel, of Warrenton, MO and Tracy Goodman and his wife, Trena, of Fulton, MO; seven grandchildren: Timothy Benton and his wife, Alexandria, of Wentzville, MO, Johnathon Benton and his wife, Shannon, of Nixa, MO, Danielle Benton of Warrenton, MO, Tyler Goodman, Dalton Goodman and Jessie Knuckles of Spring Bluff, MO, Austin Puente of Fulton, MO, William Waters and Jordan Edmonds of Ozark, MO; four great-grandchildren: Braxton, Tucker, Kenley & Weston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Alden, Gene & Noel; and a sister, Katherine “Joan” Adams.
A Memorial Graveside service was at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Cave Spring Cemetery with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home.
