Florence E. Juergens, 97, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.

Florence was born on May 25, 1924 in Lonedell, MO, to Frank and Annie (Fredrickson) Huff. She grew up in various parts of the country; however, her family was originally from the St. Clair area. Florence graduated from Riverview Gardens High School, class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Gene Juergens on October 21, 1950 and together they worked in the family business, Standard Oil, in Sullivan.

In 1973, Florence became employed by the city of Sullivan, first as City Clerk and then as City Treasurer. She remained in the City Treasurer position all the way until she was 96 years old. Florence and Gene enjoyed traveling in their camper and enjoyed many vacations traveling the country. Florence was a collector of antiques and loved going to estate sales and auctions. She also enjoyed photography, needle work, and was a wonderful cook. Florence will be missed by her loving family.

Florence is survived by two children, Richard Juergens of Columbia, MO and Nancy Weiskopf of Sullivan, MO; one son-in-law, Bud Weiskopf of Union, MO; three grandchildren: Jessica Thiele and husband Matthew, Victoria Neenam and husband Maxwell, all of Columbia, MO, and Corey Weiskopf and significant other, Lisa Boyle, of Sullivan, MO;  granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Weiskopf of Bourbon, MO; six great-grandchildren: Alexander and Laura Thiele, Wolfgang and Gwenivere Neenan, Veronica Weiskopf, and Alexandria Hood and husband Dustin; two step-great-grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Weaver; two great-great-grandchildren, Bella and Carson Hood; three step-great-great-grandchildren: Jordan, Amiyah and Aaliyah; as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Juergens; one grandson, Jason Weiskopf; one great-great-granddaughter, Eliza Hood; her parents, Frank and Annie; and a sister, Charlotte Huff, whom passed away at the tender age of six.

It was Mrs. Juergens wish to donate her body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Her family will host a celebration of her life at a later time.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan.
