Carmen G. Petrungaro

Carmen G. Petrungaro, 81, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Carmen Guy Petrungaro was born on April 23, 1940 in Chicago, IL, to Thomas and Helen (Dudra) Petrungaro. He grew up and attended school in Chicago and then immediately entered into the United States Navy. He served aboard the U.S.S. Boxer until his honorable discharge in June of 1959. Carmen then came back to Bourbon to make his home once his mother moved here. He was a very loving, loyal and devoted son.
Carmen was united in marriage to Wilma Harmon Hoehne on September 13, 2002. He inherited three stepchildren, Keith, Rebecca and Diane, whom he lovingly welcomed into his life and heart. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his inherited family. Carmen and Wilma continued to reside in the Sullivan/Bourbon area for the remainder of their days.
Carmen spent most of his working life in the manufacturing industry. He loved cooking, playing BINGO and traveling. He was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan. Carmen will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and close friends.
Carmen is survived by Wilma’s three children: Keith Hoehne and significant other, Alice Davis, of Bourbon, MO, Rebecca Hoehne or Gardner, CO, and Diane Borkowski of Rio Rico, AZ; one grandson, George Hoehne and wife Amanda of Warrenton, MO; one great-granddaughter, Harper; other extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; and his parents, Thomas and Helen.
Cremation arrangements have taken place. Carmen was interred next to Wilma in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. A Celebration of Carmen’s life will be planned for a later date.
