Robert Ackerman Sr.

Robert Lee Ackerman Sr., age 72, of St. Clair, MO, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 11, 2021. 

Robert was born in St. Louis, MO, October 2, 1948, son of Robert Leonard and Lillian Beatrice (Cowley) Ackerman. Bob earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from Columbia College. He spent most of his career in quality assurance for Emerson, Heizer Aerospace, and later, Steelville Manufacturing. However, his true passion was music and playing piano at church. Bob spent many years performing with Southern Gospel groups, such as Revelators, Bethelairs and Lighthouse Singers and the Gospel Echoes. He was a member of Sullivan Family Worship Center in Sullivan, MO. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two sons: Rob Ackerman Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Naples, FL, and Sean Ackerman of the family home; a daughter, Roxanne Kelemen and her husband, Stephen, of St. Louis; two stepdaughters: Meghan Nolting and her husband, Daniel, of Salem, MO, and Shannon Clark and her fiancé, Michael Kollasch, of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Alyssa Ackerman, Peter & Peyten Kelemen; and numerous extended family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his young son, David Robert Ackerman; and his parents, Robert Ackerman and Lillian Ackerman Willis. 

Services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Sullivan Family Worship Center with Pastors Billy Terry and Duncan Skiles officiating. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. Louis. 

Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2021 prior to the service at Sullivan Family Worship Center.
