Thomas L. Beers

Thomas L. Beers, 63, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. 

Thomas Leon Beers was born in St. Louis, MO, January 4, 1958, the son of Leon Beers and Frances A. (Gilliam) Beers. He grew up and attended and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1976. Tom was employed as an Operator for the Franklin County Highway Department for 30 years. In 2011, he retired at age 52. Tom was an outdoorsman and enjoyed being on his tractor. He cut grass for many of his neighbors and always kept the road graded and in good condition. Tom was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, basketball and baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals were his favorite team. Tom was a good man and will be missed by his family and friends. 

Tom is survived by his mother, Frances Halmich, of Sullivan, MO; a stepsister, Brenda Thomas and her husband, Steve, of Sullivan, MO; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Beers; one brother, Ron Beers; one sister, Judy Beers; and his stepfather, Clifford Halmich. 

Funeral services were held 12 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Stanton, MO, with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Interment followed in Stanton Cemetery. 

Visitation was 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at First Baptist Church in Stanton. 

Memorial contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanton.
