Evelyn C. Adams

Evelyn C. Adams, 92, of Bourbon, MO, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Evelyn Clella West was born in Leasburg, MO, June 28, 1928, to Floyd Edward and Anna Martha (Bryan) West. She was a lifelong resident of the Leasburg/Bourbon area. Evelyn was united in marriage to Walter Edwin Adams on February 1, 1946 and they were blessed with three children: Jimmie Lee, Carolyn Ann and Patricia Ann. Evelyn celebrated 70 years of marriage with her beloved Walter before his passing on April 22, 2016.
Evelyn was employed at Paramount Cap Factory for 13 years, and then as a cook for Bourbon Elementary School. Evelyn’s family came first and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening and fishing.
Evelyn is survived by her three children: Jimmie Adams and wife, Katherine, of Marshall, MO, Carolyn Talbot of Springfield, MO, and Patricia Pennock and husband, Mike, of Bourbon, MO; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Adams; her parents, Floyd and Anna West; one brother in infancy; son-in-law, Roger Talbot; one brother, Walter West and his wife, Eleanor; two sisters, Virginia Ransom and her husband, Richard, and Nadine Byrd Waisner and her first and second husband, Clyde Byrd and Roland Waisner; parents-in-laws, Richard and Lenora Adams and Ross and Nellie Bacon.
A Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Leasburg, MO, with Pastor Terry King officiating.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the First Southern Baptist Church of Leasburg.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
