Sales Tax Strong To Start 2021
Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax has soared to begin 2021.
While the county began the year down 12% from 2020, January spending skyrocketed 31%.
The county has collected $331,619.46 through the first two months.
In January, the county collected $180,004.02, down $206,385.66 year-over-year.
January collection comes from December spending.
In February, the county collected $151,615.44, up from $115,648.04 last year.
That tops the previous high of $138,678.40 in February 2019.
Crawford County is already up more than $10,000 from this point last year.
Through all of 2020, the county collected more than $2.4 million in general revenue sales tax.

The law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes also were up in February.
Both taxes were down nearly 10% in January, but rebounded in February, increasing 28% year-over-year.
The county brought in $73,416.21 for both funds this month.
That is up from $57,162.31 in 2020.
The two funds have hauled in around $162,242 so far, up from around $156,000 in 2020.
