Bourbon City Council Announces COVID-19 Measures
The city of Bourbon has announced several changes due to COVID-19, which were passed at the council’s Tuesday meeting.
A city-wide state of emergency was declared, which enables businesses to qualify for aid, if needed.
A resolution was passed to hold the April water bills until May 1. Water, sewer and trash will not be billed in April.
Users will receive a two-month bill in May, but the council voted to suspend all penalties for the next two months and to work with residents who need to set up payments for their utilities.
The city hall lobby will be closed to the public and a phone number will be posted if citizens need assistance from the clerk.
The council approved the Bourbon Community Center’s plans to set up a wi-fi hotspot in the parking lot for citizens who do not have easy access to the service at home. Bourbon police will monitor the lot to ensure citizens remain in their cars. The council applauded the community center for this decision.
