Eagles Top Salem In St. James Tourney
Sullivan held off Salem in the first round of the St. James Tournament on Tuesday, winning 50-41.
The Eagles (7-5) are the second seed in the tournament. Tuesday’s win advanced them to the semifinals against No. 3 seed St. James.
Jordan Woodcock and Owen Farrell combined for more than half of Sullivan’s scoring.
Woodcock dropped 14 points on four 3-pointers, while Farrell added 13.
Dillon Farrell and Kolton Keen each scored six points. Jacob Hatcher added four points.
Austin Orick and Josh Wiese chipped in three and Dallas Blankenship had one.
Sullivan got out ahead early, staking an 18-14 lead after one period. Salem chipped away and the Eagles held a 25-23 advantage at the half.
A big third quarter where Sullivan outscored Salem 16-8 pushed the lead to 41-31 after three quarters.
