Clora C. Mayfield

Clora C. Mayfield, age 93 of Sullivan, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Life Care Center, Sullivan, MO.

Clora was born on November 15, 1924 in Stroud, OK to Troy Perkins and Gladys (Pruitt) Caudill. She was raised in the Calhoun/ Winsor, MO area on her Dad’s farm. She went to work at an early age and wasn’t able to finish school, however she received her G.E.D. at age 60. On December 3, 1943, Clora was united in marriage to Carl W. Mayfield in Texas. They made their home in California twice, where both their children were born; Carl Dean and Elizabeth. The Mayfield family also lived in Kansas City and Salem, MO. After the passing of her husband in 2010, Clora came to Sullivan to be near her daughter, Elizabeth. She was employed as a C.N.A. in several nursing home and also in private care. Clora loved animals and enjoyed ceramics, quilting and gardening. She especially liked raising strawberries for the grandkids to enjoy.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Wagers of Sullivan, Carl “Dean” (Doris) Mayfield of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Stacy (Joe) Pendergrass, Gretchen (Ga briel McAlister) Mayfield, Matthew Mayfield, Randy Haffer, Tammy (Coby) Campbell, Troy (Stacia) Wagers; 8 great-grandchildren, Anna, Tori, Carl, Amelia, Anderson, Adalyn, C.J., and Ava; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mayfield was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mayfield, her son in law, Rev. Ron Wagers, granddaughter, Kimberley Haffer, her parents, Troy and Gladys (Pruitt) Caudill.

Visitation was from 10-11 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m., Monday, at the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Stacy Pendergrass officiating.

All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Bourbon, MO.
