Marvin Dahl Pennock of Sullivan, MO, departed this life in St. Louis, MO on December 1, 2017, having reached the age of seventy-nine years, nine months and twenty-three days. Marvin was born in St. Clair, MO on February 8, 1938, son of Mary Pennock nee Hobelmann. On July 6, 1957 he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Huff and one daughter came to bless this union.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Pat Pennock of Sullivan, MO; by his daughter, Teresa Pennock-Pratt and husband, Glenn, of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; by his grandson, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joshua Pratt and wife, Maryleigh; by his special first cousin, Rose Landing and husband, Jody, of Union, MO; by his brother, Merle Brown and wife, Donetta, of Union; by his brother-in-law, Kenny Huff of Potosi, MO; by his sister-in-law, Opal Montgomery, formerly of St. Clair, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Van Leer and her husband, Virgil.

Marvin was a Christian, being raised in the Catholic faith and had most recently been attending Elmwood Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. During his working career he worked in the maintenance department of Daimler Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, serving the company for many years. Marvin was an honorary member of VFW Post #3987 in Sullivan, MO, as well as a member of the Sullivan Gardening Club. He loved to go hunting, fishing and work in his garden. Marvin was a caring and compassionate man who never knew a stranger and would help anyone do anything without question. His family thought the world of Marvin and truly felt that their life was enriched by just knowing him. He was truly devoted to his wife and without question felt she was his best friend. His daughter, Teresa, was the treasure of his heart and he held on to every moment they spent together. The love this family felt for each other and the many precious memories they created will surely live in their hearts forever.

Memorial services were held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Brother Duke West officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date.
