Civil War Encampment At Leasburg
The Leasburg Revitalization Organization to sponsor a civil war encampment at Fulton Park in Leasburg on Saturday, July 15.
A brigade of re-enactors will camp and display regimentation including canon firing drills in the afternoon.
Morning activities include a seminar on the civil war in Missouri with speakers Scott House, Thunder in the Arcadia Valley; Ben Brown, Crawford County History Museum; and Dennis Hulsey, local civil war history buff.
There is a small fee to attend the seminar of $10.00 person and $5.00 for students. This fee includes lunch. The afternoon activities are free and open to the public, There are rope and basket making displays, doll making and coloring for the very young, along with a demonstration of canon drills
and talk about the regimentation of civil war militias and stories from Crawford and Franklin Counties. Lunch is available for purchase.
All proceeds contribute to the Leasburg Revitalization Organization.
