Wrong Way Crash Fatally Injures St. Louis Man

A wrong way crash Wednesday on Interstate 44 in Crawford County led to fatal injuries for a St. Louis man and serious injuries for a Springfield woman.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at the 202 mile marker at 2:51 p.m.
A 1998 Volvo, driven by Paul Hediger, 84, St. Louis was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck a 2019 Nissan Sentra head on.
The Sentra was driven by Amber Bowman, 43, Springfield.
Both vehicles came to a rest in the roadway.
Hediger was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Bowman was transported by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coueur to be treated for her injuries.
