US News & World Ranks Sullivan High School 'Top Of Class'

Although Sullivan High School has always been committed to being “Better Together” so all students are learning, leading, and succeeding, it has earned an impressive distinction for performance. The 2021 edition of US News and World Report’s Best High Schools lists it as “Top of its Class.”

Principal Jason Merkel comments, “When compared to other similar schools in size and demographics, SHS (of that 52) is top tier. This is the result of a collective effort of all Sullivan School District’s faculty and staff and recognizes our unwavering dedication to progress and student learning.”

SHS Teacher of the Year & Class of 1998 graduate Ms. Sarah Rochleau agrees stating, “The faculty and staff of Sullivan High School have been working diligently over the last few years to create a culture of excellence in our building. We set high expectations and strive to provide a quality high school experience for each and every student. Our students are proud to call SHS ‘home,’ and so am I!”

The report places SHS in the top 25% of national schools, securing spot 4,194 of 17, 857.

Equally impressive is its place as 52nd of 471 state schools, landing it within the top 15% of Missouri Public Schools.
