Union Man Allegedly Puts Gun Barrel In Woman's Mouth

A Union man was arrested and charged Jan. 16 after he allegedly put a woman in a head lock and put the barrel of a gun in her mouth.

Joshua S. Menley, 21, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of the South Service Road.

The caller said Menley -- identified as her ex-boyfriend -- had assaulted her friend and held a gun to her head.

Deputies located the victim and the caller.

The victim said she was helping the caller move of the residence.

While moving the caller's belongings out, Menley arrived on scene.

An altercation took place and the victim said she was kicked and put in a head lock.

While in the head lock, Menley allegedly pulled out a gun and put the barrel in her mouth.

He threw her to the ground and left the scene.

The victim sustained injuries consistent with the assault.

Deputies found Menley in St. Clair.

He admitted to an altercation and said he was assaulted by the female, though there were no obvious injuries.

He also denied assaulting the female with a gun, but admitted to possessing one.

Deputies located a gun inside the suspect's vehicle.
