Two Arrested In Burglary Of Leslie Home

A Sullivan man and Potosi man were arrested Oct. 3 in after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a golf cart.

Thomas Furdek, 40, has been charged with burglary and tampering with a motor vehicle.

Frank L. Dunn, 53, faces charges for burglary, tampering and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to the probable cause statement, the homeowner interrupted the burglary and had Furdek stopped in his vehicle.

Furdek told the Franklin County sheriff’s deputy he hit a deer with his truck and tracking it.

The deputy asked Furdek to show where the deer hit, but found no evidence to back up his claim.

Game cameras showed Furdek and an unidentified subject removing tools and other items from the barn.

The home had been broken into and several items were missing. 

A golf cart parked in front of the house was recovered in a wood line area on the property with four bags.

The bags contained hand tools from the barn and a Sawzall. 

A firearm was found in one of the bags that matched the one Furdek was seen with on the cameras.

The deputy went to another residence in Leslie for a report of a suspicious person, who was Dunn.

Dunn was found in possession of a crystal substance, a firearm and several stolen items.
