Sullivan Man Fatally Injured In Head-On Accident

A 61-year-old Sullivan man was fatally injured following a head-on accident Tuesday, August 16, at 2:45 p.m. on Missouri Highway 185 South at Sleepy Hollow Rd.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol the accident occurred when David M. Hoss, 61, Sullivan, operating a westbound 2006 Mercury Milan, lost control of his vehicle and came across the center of the roadway, striking head-on with an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Robert Smith, 83, Sullivan.
Hoss was pronounced deceased at the accident scene while Smith and a passenger, Linda R. Busse, 70, Sullivan, sustained minor injuries and were transported by Missouri Baptist Ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital-Sullivan, for treatment.
Both vehicles were a total loss.
