Sullivan Man Accused Of Setting Home On Fire

A Sullivan man has been charged with arson after allegedly setting a home on fire in Washington County.

The Daily Journal reported that Barrett Nathanial Duncan, 50, has been charged with second-degree arson and first-degree harassment.

The fire occurred Dec. 7 in the 10,000 block of Pear Road.

Duncan was reportedly involved in an argument with his wife earlier that morning. She left the residence and later received a call that he intended to set the house on fire.

Later, a representative from the home's security system told the woman there was a fire.

"The fire investigator noted in the report several locations in the living room area of the house, which apparently showed evidence of a poured ignitable liquid being applied to furniture and then ignited. There were no other obvious sources of an accidental ignition in the area of fire origin, according to the report," reported the Daily Journal.

Duncan is being held on a $100,000 bond.
