Sullivan Man Accused Of Punching, Throwing Firewood At Victim

A Sullivan man has been charged after he allegedly punched and threw a piece of firewood at a victim. 

Charles Stroup, born 1978, faces one count of third-degree domestic assault.

The incident happened Nov. 1.

The victim told a sheriff’s deputy that they got into a verbal dispute with Stroup, who grabbed them by the back of the hair and punched them in the head. 

The victim managed to get away from Stroup and ran towards their vehicle, but Stroup allegedly hurled a piece of firewood, striking them in the hand.

While backing out, Stroup threw another piece of firewood at the victim’s van.

Stroup has been arrested three times for domestic assault, but no convictions.
