St. Clair Man Charged With Assault After Allegedly Choking Girlfriend
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a St. Clair man Dec. 11 after he allegedly pinned his girlfriend to the bed and began strangling her.
Lucas Fults, 38, has been charged with third-degree domestic assault.
Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of White Road outside St. Clair for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Dispatchers could hear yelling on the 911 call and the line disconnected.
Upon arrival, deputies met with a 32-year-old female that reported she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend. The argument continued in the bedroom of the home where it became physical. The female said Fults pinned her to the bed and strangled her with both hands while he was straddling her. The female fought back and was able to escape. The deputies observed evidence of physical injury that was consistent with the reported assault.
Deputies met with the suspect and upon questioning, he admitted there had been an altercation. Ultimately, the deputies arrested the male and transported him to the Franklin County Detention Facility without incident.
His bond was set at $35,000.
