St. Clair Man Accused Of Striking Victim With Metal Pipe

St. Clair Police arrested a man Sunday morning after he allegedly struck a victim repeatedly with a metal pipe.

Charles Miller, 53, St. Clair, has been charged with first-degree assault and is being held on a $50,000 bond.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Maple Street around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim was on the front porch of the residence and covered in blood.

He told police that Miller had hit him with a pipe, or something similar, and during the altercation, Miller loaded a gun and threatened to kill him.

The victim fled the home to a neighbor’s residence.

Officers established a perimeter around Miller’s home. He was observed walking around in his yard and apprehended.

Miller said the victim had attempted to steal items from his home. He claimed he confronted the victim and an altercation broke out.

Miller admitted to striking the victim with a pipe “or a paint ball gun.”
