SPD: Man Intoxicated, Armed During Disturbance

Sullivan Police arrested a man April 5 after he was allegedly intoxicated and armed with a gun and brass knuckles during a disturbance.

David Madrigal, of Sullivan, has been charged with unlawful use of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon (intoxicated with an unloaded weapon) and unlawful possession of an illegal weapon. 

According to the probable cause statement, the incident occurred at the Ira Bland Apartments.

Police made contact with Madrigal, who was attempting to leave one of the units.

He told police he had a gun and a pistol was removed from his vest pocket.

The magazine was loaded, but no ammunition was chambered.

Madrigal also had a set of brass knuckles.

Police said he allegedly threatened another person while outside the apartment by pointing a gun at them during a verbal altercation.

Madrigal was allegedly intoxicated and admitted to consuming alcohol.

He has a criminal history with multiple unlawful use of possession of a firearm and armed criminal action charges.
