Police, Deputies Seize Nearly 300 Fentanyl Capsules, Meth
A traffic stop early Sept. 11 led to the arrest of three Crawford County men allegedly in possession of fentanyl/heroin capsules and methamphetamine.
Austin Cummings, 24, Corey Neff, 35, and Teddy Sumpter, 43, have each been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
They are being held without bond.
There were 281 capsules containing a fentanyl/heroin combination.
Another 27 grams of meth also was recovered.
Cuba police stopped their vehicle for a traffic infraction around 2:40 a.m.
Cummings, who was the driver, was wanted for a probation violation. During a search of his person, an officer found a capsule that Cummings said was fentanyl.
Crawford County sheriff’s deputies were called to assist and detained Sumpter and Neff.
While searching the vehicle, officers found the 281 capsules and meth, along with a loaded hypodermic syringe.
The suspects allegedly purchased the narcotics from St. Louis.
