Ordinance, Monthly Bills and Bid Before Council Tuesday

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet Tuesday, November 17, with three matters before the Board of Aldermen that included a bid for a new UTV for the Sullivan Parks Department, payment of the monthly bills totaling $1,541,310.88 and an ordinance that had been forwarded to the council for approval.

City Administrator J.T. Hardy was seeking approval from the council to purchase a UV34 Bobcat UTV for Sullivan Parks Department after their vehicle was stolen from the Sullivan Fairgrounds Park several weeks ago.

The purchase price through a state bid would be $13,216.22 with the city receiving an insurance compensation for the UTV at $7,609.

Payment of the monthly bills was scheduled at $1,541,310.88 that included: $483,446.36 to MPUA Power for electric supply during the month of October; $366,938.77 for a new Sewer Vactor for the water and sewer department and $20,112.65 to Village of Oak Grove for their share of WaL-Mart sales tax.

One bill was before the council for approval as an ordinance with Bill No. 3903, which would approve a rezoning of property located at 324 North Clark owned by Steve and Dories Jesse from R-2 (Single and Multiple Family District) to C-3 (Office and Residential District.)

The bill was approved for the request by Planning and Zoning.

There were no request or petitions before the council at press time and closed session was posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
